A Worcester-based barbecue restaurant first opened in 2022 is going out of business.
Black Sheep Bah-Bah-Q & Kitchen, located at 397 Chandler St., announced the planned closure in an Instagram post on Monday. The post didn’t specify a closing date.
“Thank you all so much for supporting us here at Black Sheep,” the post reads. “Unfortunately we will be closing our doors permanently. We will miss seeing all of your smiling faces and can’t thank you enough for the support.”
Operated by Patrick Flynn, a former construction worker, and Jennifer Wright, who has 30 years of experience in the restaurant space, Black Sheep first opened in 2022 in the former location of City Bar & Grille. Prior to opening a physical restaurant, the business operated a food truck from a location on Main Street in Spencer.
The owners of Black Sheep could be reached for comment.
Wright was formerly the general manager of Brew City Grill & Brew House. Brew City closed in the summer of 2023, with the site being put up for sale earlier in May.
Black Sheep joins District Wood Fired Kitchen on Harding Street, Lock 50 on Water Street, Helfand's Deli on Highland Street, and Woosta Pizza on Main Street as some of the Worcester-based eateries closed in 2024.
