The Worcester Art Museum announced Monday it will unveil its new entrance on Lancaster Street with a ceremony on Thursday.
The entrance includes new stairs and an elevator to the museum’s three-story Higgins Education Wing. The addition of the elevator also makes all of WAM’s public entrances fully wheelchair accessible, according to the press release.
The project was designed by WHY Architects, a Los Angeles firm which also designed WAM’s Salisbury Access Bridge in 2015.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday and include remarks from state Sen. Harriette Chandler (D-Worcester) and WAM Director Matthias Waschek.
