Worcester-area Foreclosures Up
Nearly 3 percent of mortgages in the Worcester area were in some phase of the foreclosure process in March, according to California-based research firm CoreLogic.
The 2.96-percent rate was up from 2.54 in March 2010 and 1.91 percent in March 2009. It was still lower than the national rate of 3.57 percent, however.
While the foreclosure rate has risen over the past year, the share of mortgages that are 90 days or more delinquent has fallen, from 8.08 percent in March 2010 to 7.2 percent in March 2011.
