Manufacturing & student housing

The Osgood Bradley Car Co. in 1835 started manufacturing railroad cars on Grafton Street in Worcester. When the company moved its operations to Greendale, it erected on the Worcester site a new building designed by New York architect Walter Timmis and leased it out for retail and manufacturing. It was used for these purposes until 2016, when it was converted to student housing.

Trivia question: What is the name of the student housing development now occupying the Osgood Bradley Building?

And the answer to last edition’s question: The U.S. president who was an enthusiastic player of horseshoes and counted his set from Worcester’s St. Pierre Chain & Wire Rope as his favorite was George H.W. Bush.
