The Worcester Red Sox have collaborated with the Harpoon Brewery of Boston to create a new beer which now is available at Polar Park.
The new beer, WooSox Lager, is a full-bodied golden lager that has an ABV of four percent, according to a Tuesday press release from Harpoon Brewery. It is available ahead of Memorial Day weekend in the current series of games against the Norfolk Tides, the Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, which started on Tuesday.
“As the official beer sponsor of the WooSox, this collaboration is more than just a partnership; it’s a celebration of the vibrant community spirit of Worcester,” Dan Kenary, Harpoon CEO and Worcester native, said in the press release. “This lager embodies the essence of a perfect game-day beer and I personally can’t wait to enjoy it at Polar Park this summer.”

The WooSox Lager will be available all season in the ballpark, as well as on draft or in 16 ounce, four-pack cans at some retailers, bars, and restaurants in the Worcester area.
Harpoon already has a significant presence in Worcester, as the Harpoon Worcester Beer Garden, located on Mercantile Plaza, brings live music and drink and food options to the city each summer.
The Harpoon Brewery was founded in 1986, and first brewed commercially in Boston, before opening a second brewery in Windsor, Vermont. The brewery became an employee-owned company in 2014.
