Women law students start cross-school advocacy group

A group of students at high profile law schools, including Yale University in New Haven, has launched what it calls the first inter-law school advocacy organization for women in the legal profession. Called the Women’s Law School Coalition, the group’s goal is to help raise national awareness about issues affecting women lawyers. The group was sparked by several recent incidents of "cyber-harassment," where law students used the Internet to post pictures and personal attacks on female -- and some male -- law students using social networking sites like AutoAdmit.com. Fighting similar attacks will be its first goal, the group said. Other campuses involved with the effort include Boalt Hall (UC Berkeley), University of Chicago, Columbia, Harvard, Northwestern, Stanford and the University of Virginia.
