Winchendon sustainable agriculture market receives $68K microloan

The North Central Massachusetts Development Corp., the economic development branch of the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce in Fitchburg, announced on Tuesday it was providing a microloan to Homestead Market in Winchendon.

The NCMDC approved a $67,500 loan for Homestead Market owners, Tony and Morgan Ruschioni, per the announcement. The couple used the loan to buy property, and the market plans to hire one full-time and one part-time employee.

The Homestead Market is a small retail business providing homemade products and services focused on sustainable agriculture, according to the press release.

As a U.S. Small Business Administration microloan lender, the NCMDC can provide small business loans for up to $250,000.
