Oxford education firm, Wilson Language Training Corp. has appointed a new CFO, Mario LaRue, and created a new chief people officer position at the company. Ewan McCulloch has been named to that role.
LaRue replaces Wilson’s co-founder, Edward Wilson, as CFO. Wilson will continue with the company as a board member.
LaRue most recently served as the senior vice president of finance at Texas tech company Bonterra. Prior to joining Bonterra, he spent six years as vice president of finance of Virginia-based software firm Clarabridge, where he helped lead the organization through a more than $1-billion strategic sale, according to a Thursday press release from Wilson Language.
Ewan McCulloch worked most recently at The Cengage Group in Boston as its senior vice president of human resources and at Framingham retailer Staples as interim chief human resources officer.
“Literacy is an incredible gateway to build skills, and an interconnector across learning and development. Without it, too many are unable to fulfill their potential. To play a part in improving this for millions of children and young adults is exciting, invigorating, and an honor,” McCulloch said in the press release.
Wilson Language Training employs 240 people and specializes in developing literacy programs for students, especially K-3 students and those who struggle with reading and writing, such as students with dyslexia.
