Whole Foods will open its Shrewsbury location on Jan. 30, which will mark the natural and organic foods retailer’s first Worcester-area location.
The store, with about 150 full- and part-time employees, joins the two other Central Massachusetts’ Whole Foods locations in Framingham and Sudbury. The Shrewsbury store will feature a quick-eats restaurant, Borgatti Bar, with snacks, sandwiches, salads, 12 craft beers, wines and cocktails, according to the announcement.Â
The new store, a 50,000-square-foot space in the Lakeway Commons development on Rte. 9, will anchor a plaza joined by Starbucks, Tavern in the Square, Burtons Grill, UniBank and other restaurants and retailers.Â
Other Lakeway Commons stores began opening this fall, according to project developers Grossman Development Group, LLC.
