Canal Toys, a French toy manufacturer with U.S headquarters in Westborough, has named Marla Canfield Clark to the newly created role of executive vice president of sales for North America.
Clark, who has more than 20 years of experience working in the children’s toy industry at companies including New Jersey-based Horizon Group USA and United Kingdom-based RMS International, was brought in to enhance the company’s market presence in North America, according to a company press release issued Wednesday.
“With a deep-rooted passion for the toy industry and a proven track record of success, Marla brings undeniable experience and enthusiasm to the company,” Bill Uzell, CEO of Canal Toys, said in the press release. “We are confident that she will bring innovative strategies and a fresh perspective that will propel our sales efforts to new heights.”
Canal products include Studio_Creator, a video production kit designed to help teens create social media content, and Airbrush Plush, a plush unicorn children can customize with the use of airbrushes and stick-on stencils. The company’s products are available through a number of large retailers, including Hobby Lobby, Target, and Walmart.
Canal Toys first opened its U.S. headquarters in 2014 in the Westborough Office Park, a large business park operated by Carruth Capital of Westborough.
Clark, a University of Maryland graduate, first took on the role in May, according to her LinkedIn profile.
