The Channel Co., a Westborough-based media, event and marketing company focused on the IT industry, has named Matt Yorke as its next CEO.
Yorke comes to The Channel Co. with experience in managing acquisitions and transforming legacy media networks into integrated marketing technology and data providers, according to a press release issued by the company on Tuesday.
"I am honored to join The Channel Co. as CEO at this critical juncture in the company's growth story," Yorke said in the release. "The technology industry is expected to undergo major changes over the next ten years, driven by the increasing use of artificial intelligence, the continued shift to cloud infrastructure, and an evolving cybersecurity landscape. Marketing efforts will need to adapt to these changes.”
Yorke joins the company from Foundry, a Boston-based marketing technology company where he served as the global chief revenue officer. Formerly known as IDG Communications, Foundry operates tech-focused publications like PCWorld and MacWorld.
Yorke replaces Robert Grey, a board member of The Channel Co.. Grey took the CEO role on an interim basis in September, following the retirement of former CEO Blaine Raddon in September.
"It has been a privilege to lead The Channel Co. during this transitional period," Grey said in the release. “With Matt now at the helm, I believe the Company will be able to deliver fully on the promise of one global TCC through its focus on outcome driven solutions and outstanding client experience."
Founded in 1982, The Channel Co. is responsible for publishing CRN, a trade publication originally launched as Computer Retail Weekly and focusing on IT news. The company runs a number of IT-focused networking and award events, and provides marketing agency services to tech-related companies.
