A Westborough man will lead an Arizona-based senior wellness center company that recently expanded into Central Massachusetts.
Paul Reilly was named CEO Tuesday of ActiveRx and will be responsible for day-to-day management of the company’s business operations. Matt Essex, who founded the company in 2008, will shift his focus to building strategic alliances and research and development as chairman of the board.
ActiveRx provides physical therapy and strength training to seniors to help them avoid falls and other health ailments.
Reilly spearheaded the expansion of ActiveRx into New England with the opening of a location in the Westborough Shopping Center in August 2013. The company describes that as one of its most successful launches.
Reilly said in a statement that he’s looking to boost franchise development efforts and raise sufficient capital to expand the company nationwide. He joined ActiveRx in 2012 after 17 years in sales and management roles at Natick-based Boston Scientific.
Including Westborough, ActiveRx has 11 locations in eight states. Reilly said last year that the company plans to have 15 to 20 locations in southern New England by 2016.
