Westborough Firm Part Of $900M Army Contract

Westborough-based Noresco is one of 16 companies to be awarded Army Corps of Engineers contracts for energy-saving infrastructure projects.

Noresco, a designer and builder of energy efficiency projects, has been doing work for the Army Corps of Engineers for more than 10 years on two previous contracts. The new contract is good for five years and can be extended for an additional five.

In all, the contract to the 16 companies is worth $900 million. Under the contract, the Army will implement energy and water efficiency projects to meet requirements of the National Energy Conservation Policy Act.

Noresco is a subsidiary of Farmington, Conn.-based Carrier Corp., a division of Hartford-based United Technologies Corp.
