Westborough Firm Announces New Venture Funding

SimpliVity Corp., a Westborough-based IT startup, said it has secured $58 million in Series C financing to support continued growth.

SimpliVity CEO Doron Kempel said in a statement that the money will be used to “accelerate product development and all facets of (the) business, globally.” According to the company, this includes plans to bolster the engineering team and expand service and support as well as the field team.

Co-leading the series C round were SimpliVity’s existing investors Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers Growth and DFJ Growth. Other investors included Meritech Capital Partners and Swisscom Ventures, as well Accel and Charles River Ventures – both existing investors.

SimpliVity emerged from stealth mode in August 2012 with the introduction of its IT infrastructure platform OmniCube. The company offers worldwide service and customer support.
