George Thompson has joined the Westborough-based law firm of Sager & Schaffer LLP.
Thompson specializes in the practice of insurance law and policyholder representation.
Most recently, Thompson was vice president and managing counsel for Unum, where he managed a team of attorneys responsible for corporate litigation, insurance disputes and claims underwriting across the country.
Thompson received a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College in Dartmouth, N.H., a master’s degree from American International College in Springfield, and his law degree from Suffolk University in Boston. He is currently a professor of insurance law at Southern New England School of Law in North Dartmouth, an advisory board member of Health Law Advocates, co-chairman of the Massachusetts Bar Association Health Law group and a Westborough selectman.
