The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection has assessed a $7,000 penalty to a Westborough developer for violations at a site in Southborough.
The penalty was assessed to Madison Place Southborough, LLC for violating the Water Pollution Control and Groundwater Discharge regulations at the Madison Place site in Southborough, according to a release from MassDEP. The residential apartment complex has its own waste-water treatment plant that in an August inspection was found to have been modified with a pre-treatment tank without obtaining prior approval.
The fine was assessed for not having first gained that approval, which would have required a review of the plan from MassDEP.
