A Westborough nonprofit working to improve cancer survival rates raised nearly $1.5 million at its annual event this year, a fundraiser featuring the comedian Jay Leno.
The group, 15-40 Connection, held its 10th anniversary gala this month with an auction and golf tournament far exceeded what's been raised in the event's past.
Leno, an Andover native who lost a brother to cancer, auctioned off private tours of his car collection to raise $85,000 for 15-40 Connection. He was joined at the event by car dealer magnate Ernie Boch Jr., Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito and others.
The nonprofit is named after the age group it targets, those between 15 and 40, whose cancer survival rates have not improved as much as other age groups.
Is very important to all society to keep hope in Cancer treatment to all who need.@mauriciopartyguy.
