Boston-Power has entered into a strategic cooperation with SPI Energy as that company is set to release $500 million in bonds towards building battery capacity for electric vehicles.
The agreement will see the two companies join together in markets such as energy storage and electric vehicles in the Chinese market, according to SPI Energy, which is based in Shanghai. Boston-Power is a global company with research and development centers in Westborough and Beijing and manufacturing operations in Asia.
Boston-Power is a global supplier of lithium-ion battery products that supplies to Hewlett-Packard computers as well as manufactures batteries for the electric vehicles market. It sells these into the Chinese market.
