Westborough awards 12 companies for economic development

The Westborough Economic Development Committee has honored 12 companies and organizations for helping to grow the town’s economy in 2018. 

Bonnie Sullivan, chair of the committee, said at an event on Friday the large and small organizations in real estate, healthcare, lifesciences, technology, food and retail helped contribute to the town’s economic growth in the past year.

The 12 honorees in 10 categories include: 

Best Expansion Project Award – Reliant Medical Group

Driver for Business Growth Award – Corridor 9/495 Regional Chamber of Commerce

Public-Private Partnership Award – PENTA Communications, Inc. 

Leader in Development Award – Carruth Capital 

Westborough Foodie Award – Red Heat Tavern, Sachi Japanese Steak House and Sushi Bar

Innovation Award – Columbia Tech (manufacturing) 

Outstanding Revitalization Project Award – Arcade Building (redevelopment)

Company to Watch Award – Astellas (biotech)

Westborough New Small Business Award – Elsie Kaye Glassworks 

Civic Pride Award – Rangers on Track, BORO Sugar Shack
