West Coast Pizza Chain In Buyout Agreement

California Pizza Kitchen, which has a location at the Natick Collection, will be acquired by the San Francisco-based private investment firm Golden Gate Capital.

Golden Gate has agreed to pay $18.50 per share in cash, or approximately $470 million, for the chain of pizza restaurants. California Pizza Kitchen shares closed at $16.71 yesterday.

The restaurant chain had been searching for a buyer since last year.

The Golden Gate deal is expected to close in the third quarter.
