A 147,000-square-foot distribution facility for supermarkets, food processors and convenience stores has been sold to a Connecticut investment firm for $10.6 million.
Wheelock Street Capital, with offices in Greenwich, Conn. and Boston, purchased the property on Shrewsbury Street in West Boylston from Boston property investors GFI Partners, which owns properties in Worcester, Ayer, Franklin and Devens, among others.
The West Boylston building is currently home to Bunzl, a distributor food packaging, supplies, cleaning and safety products to food processors, supermarkets, convenience stores and other retailers.
On its website, the company says it operates more than 100 warehouses and serves all 50 states and Puerto Rico, Canada, the Caribbean and parts of Mexico. The West Boylston facility serves all of New England and is one of nine warehouses in the Northeast region.
The property has risen in value since GFI Partners acquired the building last year for just under $7 million.
