Longtime Webster Five board of directors chairman Daniel Ivascyn retired from his position as of May 20, the $882-million bank announced Tuesday.
Ivascyn has been replaced by Charniak Insurance Agency owner Stephen Charniak.
Ivascyn worked with the bank in various capacities for 46 years, first as a teller in the 1960s, then later as a corporator and trustee, according to the board’s announcement. He served as the superintendent of Oxford Public Schools until 2003. He has been chairman of the Webster Five board for 14 years.
Charniak, in turn, has worked with Webster Five for 36 years, joining the board of directors in 1989. He has served as vice chairman of the board for the last nine years.
“Over the years, it has been a distinct honor and pleasure to serve Webster Five in various capacities.” Ivascyn said in a statement. “To witness Webster Five become a leading community bank throughout Worcester County and beyond has been most rewarding.”
Webster Five has branches in Auburn, Dudley, Oxford, Shrewsbury, Webster and Worcester. As of June 30, the bank had $882 million in assets and $659 million in deposits.
