A recent study said an aging worker population in a large portion of MetroWest – from Marlborough south to Franklin – is presenting challenges to businesses in the region. The study suggested that the region needs to find ways to bring in younger workers.
My well educated children and their friends wanted to stay … but had to leave the state to find professional jobs ... such a shame. Most of the 25-ish-year-old master's degree professionals moved … Now that the generation is settling out of state it will be very difficult for them to return if the professional jobs become available.

PROMISES HARD TO KEEP?
While touring Worcester's key public transportation sites late last month, U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood promised the federal government's help in improving access to Worcester Regional Airport.
Ray LaHood's visit to Worcester and his remarks at Union Station and the airport are promising but oft-repeated. Note LaHood did not specify any amount, nor a timeline for specific assistance from the federal government (which, for those of you who haven't noticed, isn't especially flush these days).
