WBJ Talk Back, April 27, 2009

“Most of the businesses operating downtown are doing it illegally. They have illegal aliens working for them that have not been approved by the U.S. Govt. to work here. This is an abomination and should be stopped.”

Jim Rizoli on an article that ran in MetroWest495 Biz about an effort by Brazilian business owners in downtown Framingham to form a business group.

“How inane in this economy to think — even as a gag — of spending money on this drivel makes sense. Donate to your favorite charity and do some good if you have the cash to spare.”

Bob Fields on an article in the WBJ Daily Report about two entrepreneurs who are trying to sell one-inch lots of land in the tropics.

“The list of worst states for entre-preneurs includes the very best states in terms of the reputation of the state as an incubator of new companies. Perhaps things like education, top colleges, good transportation, etc. are more important than low income taxes.... Why don’t you compare taxes with success stories to see which states are good.”

Dick Thornton on a report that Massachusetts is one of the “worst states for business” based on its tax rate.
