Wayland Laser Maker Enters Chinese Market

Wayland-based laser maker Candela Corp. has received approval to market its products in China.
The Chinese state Food and Drug Administration granted registration approval to Candela to sell its Vbeam lasers. The Vbeam laser is used to treat vascular conditions.
Candela makes lasers used in cosmetic procedures like hair and acne removal among other treatments. The company is hosting a group of Chinese physicians at its Wayland headquarters today.
Chinese partner Chindex International Inc. helped Candela work with Chinese regulatory authorities. The company said it expects approvals for other Candela products in the next several months.
