Paresky Flitt & Co., a certified public accounting firm based in Wayland, has been acquired by UHY, a national accounting firm headquartered in Connecticut.
This move will allow UHY, which already operates in 10 Northeast states including New York, Connecticut, and New Hampshire, to expand into the Massachusetts market, according to a press release issued by UHY on Monday. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Mike Okenquist and David Lorenzi, the managing partners of Paresky Flitt’s Wayland office, will continue to serve in these roles. The company’s 25 employees will stay on with UHY.
“As we looked to enter Massachusetts, it was important to team up with a local firm that has values similar to UHY’s. I knew when I met with David and Mike, as well as the leadership team at Paresky Flitt that there was a clear connection between our firms and our service philosophies,” Michael Mahoney, northeast region managing director at UHY, said in the press release. “We are thrilled to now have a presence in Massachusetts with a reputable firm that takes client service as seriously as we do and is ranked as one of the largest accounting firms in Massachusetts.”
Paresky Flitt was founded in 1987 by Lee Paresky and Howard Flitt, according to the company’s LinkedIn page.
“We place a high value on building strong relationships with our clients and team members, just like UHY,” Lorenzi said in the press release. “I am excited to be able to now deliver an even greater suite of services to our clients as a part of UHY.”
Founded in 1986, UHY employs more than 1,600 professionals in 36 U.S. offices.
