Waters Corp. to break ground on $215M Taunton facility

Milford lab equipment manufacturer Waters Corp. will break ground on a $215-million precision chemistry facility in Taunton next week.

The event, scheduled for Monday, will feature remarks from CEO Chris O’Connell, U.S. Rep. Joseph Kennedy III, Secretary of Housing and Economic Development Jay Ash and Taunton Mayor Tom Hoy.

The company announced its plans to build the facility in April, which will serve as an expansion to its existing manufacturing operations in Taunton.

The facility is expected to be operational by 2022.

Waters Corp. said U.S. tax reform will allow it to reinvest back into the company despite a $550-million tax bill  to repatriate foreign earnings.
