Milford-based laboratory equipment maker Waters Corp. said it made a profit of $84.9 million during the second quarter on $391 million in revenue.
In the same period a year ago, the company made a $70 million profit on $362 million in revenue.
Waters also boosted operating income from $87 million a year ago to $106 million and finished the quarter with $754 million in cash and equivalents compared to $630 million a year ago.
The company said it was the beneficiary of “improved demand trends across key markets in the quarter.” Sales were especially strong in Asia, where the company saw “impressive recovery in demand.”
