Walgreens sold a 2.7-acre property at 653 Worcester Road in Framingham for $10 million on Thursday. A Walgreens Pharmacy is located on the site, though there is no indication that the store will close.
The buyer was an entity registered to Newreal, Inc. of Boston, an affiliate of Boston real estate company The Hamilton Co., Inc., according to the Middlesex South Registry of Deeds.
The 20,364-square-foot store was built in 1993. The property was last sold to an entity registered to Walgreens in 1991 for $2.4 million.
The site is also home to a Supercuts location and a AAA Northeast office.
Walgreens announced the closure of three Boston-area stores in November, and it announced in 2019 that it would close 200 U.S. stores. However, there is no indication that Walgreens would close this Framingham location. Walgreens did not respond to a request for comment on Monday morning.
The City of Framingham assesses the site for $3.6 million.
