Walden Woods Brewing will not open in Marlborough, the brewery posted Friday on Facebook.
“It is with unspeakable sadness that we have to announce Walden Woods Brewing will not open for business,” the brewery wrote. “We would like the entire community to know how hard we fought to save our vision — this little brewery — but in the end, the battle was lost.”
In March, the brewery posted on Facebook a temporary setback and circumstances beyond the company’s control were delaying the opening of the taproom.
The brewery announced its plans to open in downtown Marlborough last summer.
According to local beer blog Mass Brew Bros, three other breweries are planning to open in Marlborough, including Lost Shoe Brewing, Strange Brewery and Tackle Box Brewing.
Meredith Harris, executive director of the Marlborough Economic Development Corp., told WBJ that “a number” of other microbreweries are already asking about the space left by Walden Woods, which she said is turn-key ready.
“We are happy to consider any other brewers who might be interested in taking over with their own brand and operation,” she said.
