Wadsworth Medical Technologies of Westborough has replaced two of its out-of-state manufacturers and suppliers with companies based in Sturbridge and Haverhill, the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center said.
The medical device firm has hired G&F Industries of Sturbridge and the Baril Corp. of Haverhill to produce and distribute its DermaLOC non-invasive, needleless wound closure system.
The company, which has received an accelerator loan from the life sciences center, said having a number of small Massachusetts companies willing to act as suppliers and distributors made it "a no-brainer" to relocate those operations.
"It didn't make sense to deal out-of-state," the company said.
G&F is a 30-year-old custom injection molding firm that focuses on medical devices. Baril specializes in die cutting, laser cutting, laminating and tool making. It works in the medical, military and alternative energy markets.
