Wachusett Brewing Co. had so much success at its outdoor space this summer the Westminster brewer is taking the feature year-round.
Wachusett will hold a grand opening Saturday from noon to 10 p.m. for its new 3,000-square-foot indoor Brew Yard, which features a bar and plenty of stools to enjoy Wachusett beer and a bite to eat. The bar is built out of a former Airstream trailer.
The grand opening will feature live music and giveaways.
The Brew Yard, which also features a retail store, a shuffleboard and space to fill growlers, will be open Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from noon to 8 p.m., on Saturdays from noon to 10 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m.
The brewery’s outdoor space opened for the first time this summer. Wachusett said it then took wood beams from a 200-year-old former dairy barn to help make the new space. Large glass garage doors open up the space to the outdoors when the weather cooperates.
Wachusett is Central Massachusetts’ largest brewer, with more than 51,000 barrels brewed in 2016, according to Worcester Business Journal’s Data Center. It was founded in 1993 and is located at 175 State Road East (Route 2A).
