After successful fall and winter programs operating a beer garden in Boston, Wachusett Brewing Co. will again find itself pouring beers to Bostonians at City Hall Plaza.
Boston Seasons, presented by Berkshire Bank, will begin on May 4 at the southeast corner of City Hall Plaza featuring nine patio areas, a main pavilion and the Wachusett Brew Yard, the city announced Thursday.
The Westminster brewery will bring its signature brew yard piece, a converted Airstream trailer, to serve beers all summer, said Wachusett Brewing Co. President Christian McMahan.
According to the city, Wachusett will rotate a wide selection of its beer on tap, but will also feature several guest brewery tap takeovers.
Boston chose Wachusett, which is located about 50 miles away, over the dozens of other craft breweries in and around the city.
“We’re connecting well with the city of Boston,” McMahan said.
Several of the company’s beers - Green Monsta IPA, Wally, and Bella Czech Pils - will naturally cater to the New England sports fan and the typical Bostonian, McMahan said.
The brewery has been exploding with growth in recent years, leading to a spot in national trade group Brewers Association’s list of the top 50 craft breweries in the country.
The brewery in December opened an indoor brew yard and so far, it’s been a huge success in expanding the brewery’s customer base, McMahan said.
“It’s been one of the most significant things to happen to the brand,” he said.
