Business consulting and technology outsourcing company Virtusa of Westborough reported double-digit percentage gains in revenue and net income for the second quarter of its 2015 fiscal year Thursday.
Virtusa said it took in $117.7 million in revenue for the quarter, which ended Sept. 30. That represented a jump of 25 percent over the same quarter last year. The company attributed the gain to wider geographical and industry demand.
The company said that it has made investments in its business development, service and delivery to meet the needs of clients’ larger and lengthier programs.
Meanwhile, its net income for the quarter, $10.1 million (34 cents per diluted share), was almost 35 percent higher than the $7.5 million (29 cents) from the first quarter of fiscal 2015.
Virtusa said it expects third-quarter revenue of between $121.8 and $123.8 million and earnings per share of 39 to 41 cents. For the year, which will end in March, the company expects revenue of between $477 million and $483 million, with earnings per share of $1.47 to $1.53.
