The Veterinary Urgent Care Center system has broken ground on a new Worcester veterinary hospital location slated to start accepting patients come November.

Offering urgent care services for dogs, cats, and exotic pets, the hospital’s upcoming 70 Gold Star Blvd. location will be VUCC’s seventh New England care center as the system already operates facilities in Braintree; Plymouth; Easton; Saugus; Dedham; and East Providence, Rhode Island, according to a Friday press release from VUCC.

“We are incredibly excited to get construction underway and get one step closer to delivering high-quality care to pet owners in the Worcester area,” Christie D’Andrea, founder and CEO of VUCC, said in the release. “Central Massachusetts and Worcester are up and coming and vibrant communities, and we can’t wait to become part of the fabric of what makes this area so special.”

North Attleborough-based Majestic Construction will act as the general contractor for the project.

Worcester VUCC will accept walk-ins and booked appointments and will be open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
