A program aimed at supporting veterans looking to start their own business ventures has been launched with $53,101 in pilot funds.
The grant from the Innovation Institute at the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative (“MassTech”) and MassDevelopment will support the pilot phase of a program that will support U.S. military veterans with services such as networking, mentoring, and advising. These services and additional research into local needs of veterans will be carried out through Hopkinton’s TechSandBox.
According to Barbara Finer, CEO of the technology incubator, there was a local need for resources for area veterans looking to start their own ventures.
The VET pilot program will last approximately 18 months. The new program represents the first veteran-focused tech entrepreneurship effort in the MetroWest region.
