Verizon honors Worcester PD

Verizon Wireless awarded Worcester Police Chief Gary Gemme its third Hopeline Law Enforcement Partnership award, which recognizes members of law enforcement for their work in domestic violence prevention.

The award was presented in Boston, and Verizon also gave a $10,000 financial grant to Daybreak, a Worcester YWCA domestic violence prevention agency, on behalf of Chief Gemme's contributions.

The Hopeline award is awarded to agencies across the country for their efforts in reducing domestic violence, providing support to victims, raising awareness of the issue, and educating communities about domestic violence.
