A Worcester biotech firm has signed a lease for office and lab space in Marlborough.
Verax Biomedical Inc. will occupy just under 17,000 square feet of space at 120 Bartlett St., according to NAI Hunneman, which brokered the lease on behalf of the property’s owner, Maine-based Ram Management Co. Verax was represented by Jones Lang LaSalle.
Verax makes tests to detect bacterial contaminants in cells and tissues intended for transplants. The 13-year-old, venture-backed firm has a facility on Plantation Street in Worcester. It was not immediately clear this morning if the company would be vacating that property.
Verax will be taking just over one-fifth of the Bartlett Street property, which contains 77,351 square feet of office, R&D and laboratory space. Evergreen Solar was formerly headquartered in the building before its 2011 bankruptcy.
