Sturbridge-based human services nonprofit Venture Community Services has named Mary Bellezza as the company’s new chief financial officer.
Bellezza will lead Venture’s strategic direction and finance department while promoting its mission of providing compassionate, person-centered care to individuals with disabilities and their families, according to a Venture press release Friday.
“Mary is a valuable addition to the senior leadership team at Venture,” Mike Hyland, Venture president and CEO, said in the release. “She is assuming the critical role of chief financial officer at a time when the agency is growing and we are grateful that she has chosen to be a part of our future.”
Bellezza replaces Dot Cote, who will retire at the end of June after a 42-year tenure with the organization.
Previously serving as Venture’s senior finance operations manager and director of finance, this transition will mark Bellezza’s second promotion with the nonprofit, having joined the team in 2022.
Coming to her current role with more than 20 years of experience, Bellezza has been an accountant at Planpow Realty of Charlton and acted as finance manager and senior credit and collections analyst at PTC with its headquarters in Boston.
Bellezza is a member of the Tantasqua School Committee and the Sturbridge Farmers Market and has previously acted as member of the Sturbridge Youth Basketball board, the Sturbridge School Committee, the Tantasqua Youth Lacrosse board, and the Tantasqua Youth Football and Cheer board.
Bellezza earned her bachelor's degree in business management from Bentley University in Waltham and her master’s degree in finance from Boston College.
