Vention Medical, which has operations in Marlborough under the name TDC Medical MA, has purchased an Irish catheter company.
Vention Medical is a medical device company specializing in medical balloons, shrink tubing and catheter assembly. It has locations in New Hampshire, Connecticut, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, California and Colorado in addition to the Marlborough facility.
The company purchased Ansamed, an Irish company that specializes in medical tubing, specifically used for catheters.
Vention did not release financial details of the transaction, but said it will use the acquisition to further expand its European and international business.
It’s unclear how the transaction will impact local operations, if at all. Company officials did not return calls Tuesday morning.
