Martin's Oil & Gas Inc. of Uxbridge has had its propane business acquired by a New York propane provider.
Martin's, a family-run business founded by David Martin in 1985, will continue with its oil business separately, to be known as Martin's Oil.
The New York company, Paraco Gas, announced the acquisition this week. The deal took place last month, the company said.
Paraco had been serving propane to Martin's for years, making the transition an easy one, Martin said. Paraco already had an Uxbridge location at 46 Depot St. and had been serving the area since 2007 as its first move into Massachusetts.
Paraco, a family-owned business, says it is one of the largest propane providers in the country, serving eight states in the Northeast.
