An Uxbridge doctor and her former employee were arrested Thursday and charged in federal court in Boston in connection with a federal drug conspiracy involving the amphetamine Adderall.
Dr. Leslie Caraceni, 56, of Uxbridge, and Rene Ruliera, 51, of Southborough, allegedly conspired with each other and others to distribute Adderall for non-legitimate medical purposes, according to the indictment. The actions took place between March 2016 and February 2018.
Caraceni was indicted on one count of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute Adderall and three counts of distributing and dispensing Adderall. Ruliera was indicted on one count of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute Adderall, and four counts of distributing and possessing with intent to distribute Adderall.
Each charge provides a sentence of no greater than 20 years in prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $1 million.
