U.S. Loses 20K Jobs In April

The country’s 5 percent unemployment rate changed little in April as payroll employment fell by 20,000, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.

The April numbers follow job losses that totaled 240,000 in the first 3 months of the year.

Sectors that saw the most job loss in April were construction, manufacturing, and retail trade. Jobs were added in health care and in professional and technical services.
