Guidant Corp., a unit of Boston Scientific Corp., has won a favorable ruling in a case against Medtronic Inc., the Boston Business Journal reports.
A federal appeals court upheld the patent to a heart rhythm device licensed to Guidant. In 2003, Medtronic filed with the Federal District Court to challenge it’s obligation for royalties owed to Mirowski Family Ventures LLC, which holds the rights to the patent.
The US Court on Thursday also affirmed that other claims on the patent aren’t invalid.
