A CareWell Urgent Care center with an affiliation to UMass Memorial Health Care is set to open this summer in Marlborough.
The center at 757 Boston Post Road will serve on-life-threatening injuries, colds, flu, infections, fractures, cuts, bites and rashes. This will be the fourth center the two organizations have opened together.
UMass Memorial locations can also now refer patients to these centers, reducing wait times and costs for non-urgent illnesses and injuries. The new Marlborough location will be within 3.2 miles of UMass Memorial-Marlborough Hospital. The location comes from a positive reaction to the previous urgent care centers, said Eric Dickson, MD, president and CEO of UMass Memorial Health Care.
CareWell Urgent Care centers accept most insurance plans including Medicare and Medicaid and the copay and visit fees are comparable to an office visit with a primary care doctor. The centers are open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
