Unum launches vision, dental coverage

Unum Group has added vision and dental insurance to its employee benefits packages, the Tennessee-based insurance giant announced Wednesday.
The launch follows the 2016 acquisition of the Starmount Life Insurance Company, which specializes in dental and business insurance, according to a statement from Unum, which has an office in downtown Worcester and about 500 employees in Central Massachusetts.
Starmount will be the center for expertise for dental and vision products serving Unum’s U.S. business, the company said.
Unum Vision is now available nationwide, while Unum Dental is being marketed in the South and Midwest regions. It will be offered in additional markets by 2018, Unum said.
