Universal Insurance pays $850K for Belmont St. buildings

370 and 374 Belmont St. in Worcester
Universal Insurance Agency, an automotive insurer, has paid $850,000 to buy the Belmont Street building in Worcester it has long leased, along with an adjacent building.
Universal Insurance now owns 370 and 374 Belmont St., adjacent properties across from UMass Medical School and UMass Memorial Medical Center's University Campus. The adjacent building to Universal Insurance includes Route Nine Automobile Sales and Charlie's Complete Auto Care.
The seller of both sites was a limited liability corporation registered to the address of Boylston property and facilities management firm Salisbury Management.
The sale closed Nov. 13. A. Murray Real Estate, a Worcester firm, brokered the transactions.
The adjacent sites total just under one-third of an acre and were last assessed by the City of Worcester at $598,500.
