The United Way of Southbridge, Sturbridge and Charlton has merged with the United Way of Webster and Dudley, the nonprofits announced last month.
The merger went into effect on April 16.
The nonprofit's new name is United Way of South Central Massachusetts, and it will operate out of 176 Main St. in Southbridge. Executive director Mary O’Coin will lead operations.
In a statement, the nonprofits said combining would allow for sharing local resources, ultimately creating a stronger network of partners and agencies.
The two organizations raised a combined $582,000 during the 2018-2019 campaign year, distributing 42 grants to community programs at 22 local agencies. The 2019-2020 campaign has so far raised $443,000, the nonprofits reported.
