Unemployment rate hits 6-year low

U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao said the 180,000 new jobs created in March and the 4.4 percent unemployment rate show the "economy is firmly on the path of steady sustainable growth." Recent unemployment figures released by the Department of Labor show the lowest unemployment rate in six years, with hourly earnings up 4 percent over a year ago.
