UMass Memorial Health Care, Reliant Medical Group and the City of Worcester have collaborated to facilitate a web-based platform to help area residents find essential resources like food, housing, transportation, health and care.
Dubbed CommunityHELP, the portal is funded by Worcester-based UMass and Reliant and provides information, resources and referrals to community-serving organizations. The website is intended to help bridge the gap between area residents and clinical systems.
“The COVID-19 pandemic created the need for immediate access to vital resources for so many people. CommunityHELP will be invaluable in helping to connect our diverse population to these vital resources,” City Manager Edward Augustus said in a Thursday press release.
Currently, the site averages roughly 1,000 searches each month, according to a press release.
